MODEL OF A BULLET TRAIN FROM A 8 YEAR OLD'S PERCEPTION

Hi ,

Today I am sharing an interesting creation of our 8 year old son. This is his perception of his bullet train.

Visual perceptual skill is one of the milestone in every child's growth. It is the ability to organize and interpret the information that is seen and give it meaning. Our eyes visualise the object and share the images with our brains to process helping us to have our own thoughts and creations. This skill development has to be encouraged by parents. It does wonders in child's cognitive development.

As child's first teacher, we should know or take time to observe child's skills or area of interest. We were really surprised and felt happy as parents to see a wonderful cute creation from our child.

My 8 year old is very much fond of watching trains and would prefer to travel more by trains. Railway station was hardly a 5 minute walk from our community. Staying in 11th floor, we would be able to have a railway view from our balcony. I used to feed him in the balcony watching trains.

When he was a 2 year old toddler, I used to take him to a nearby railway station to watch trains in the evening hours. We will be there for at least half an hour, we will see minimum three crossings, a passenger express, MMTS and Freight trains. We had this schedule everyday till the age of 5. He would mostly prefer to get only train toys. Later, he was involved in Basket ball and Cricket coaching. But, still he loves watching trains and speak more about different trains and explains their speed too.

He started watching more train videos in Youtube and discuss about it with us. Recently, we re-located to a new place. Fortunately, my brother's house and our house are very near to the railway station. We have a railway view nearby. Everyday, we spend 10 minutes in the morning and evening to watch trains. He is fond of tube trains. His favourite passtime in my brother's house is sitting on the lounge window and watch all the trains crossings. His interests and passion on trains made him to design this model train.

He used a packing cardboard box. Cut out different shapes and glue all the shapes together.

Hope to see you all again with another imagination.

DIY - MAZE BOARD

It's been years, I logged on to my space here. Yes, a short break from a profile of a working mom to stay at home mom. The Transition was initially very peaceful, gave me more relaxation , more holidays, no more application for leave or permissions.

We have re-located to a new place, settling down with the changes. With the re-location, I got to spend a month time with the children, which I have missed for a very long period.

I cherish the moments with them, the most valuable moments which most of working parents yearn for, left me with some painful thoughts.

BACK AGAIN TO START WITH, here
